![]() ![]() This is on Windows 10 with a single CPU (Ryzen 3900X running single threaded) 11:55:10 | | Suspending computation - CPU is busy 11:55:10 | | suspend work if non-BOINC CPU load exceeds 7% 11:55:10 | | Reading preferences override file I just tested it on my system with setting the value to 7%, then ran a Kaspersky database update (which uses 8% CPU). It happens irrespective of which projects attached to (seems to be a clear BOINC scheduling problem) Even if fully loaded, BOINC continues to compute.Įven suspending and resuming manually while the task is running resumes the BOINC computation tasks when CPU usage is already over 95%. This machine is used for multithreaded compilation which bumps CPU usage outside of BOINC to 95%+ when active, and BOINC should suspend, but it doesn't. Hardware: 2x 6c/12t Xeon L5640 (24 logical processors total) Set "suspend when non-boinc cpu usage is above": 30% (also tried 50%)īOINC should suspend computation when the heavy load task runs.Use 50% of processors on a high core count machine.Since the current (and likely future) standard is the registry startup, it would be best to declare the program menu startup entry redundant, and delete it - that's easier (with a right-click/delete) anyway.BOINC isn't suspending computation when non-BOINC cpu usage is high, despite having settings to suspend computation to that effect. But I think all of us who were active upgraders at that point went through the transition with double icons, and had to remove one of them. The old BOINC installers used to put a shortcut link in the start menu startup group (sorry, I can't remember the transition point between 'new' and 'old' in that sentence). The newer BOINC installers put the "run" instruction into the registry. No, usually not, if the tasks already seem to be running. Will it cause anything to ultimately stop crunching? Both Manager and client just get pretty confused. Most apparently it was caused by the BOINC installer. ![]() ![]() Is there any problem with BOINCManager for this to happen Is it possible, that your (or All users') "Start Menu\Programs\Startup" contains a link to BOINC Manager? ( BOINC installer likes to create an entry in "HKLM\Software\MS\Windows\CurrVersion\Run", even if the "Allow all users to control BOINC" checkbox switched off.)-: ![]()
